Rene has 25 years of experience in geoscience characterization for exploration, development and research projects.
He held technical advisor and leadership roles with ExxonMobil and Apache working on projects across onshore and offshore basins in Africa, South America, North America and Europe. His experience covers conventional and unconventional systems from frontier exploration to mature field development.
Rene holds a PhD in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen where he serves as an honorary professor teaching courses and advising research projects. He is an active member of SEPM, EAGE and the Geological Society of London and has published numerous papers on petroleum geology and stratigraphy.
