Russell Davies

Russell has over 33 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry in exploration and development and technology consulting services including research and development. He is a leading global expert in fault seal analysis where he applies the concepts to oil and gas but also in Carbon Capture and Containment.

Russell collaborates with clients on high-level structural geological challenges in trap and seal analysis, natural fracture characterization and structural modeling through his consultant company Redlands Fault Geological Consulting, LLC (redlandsfault.com).

Russell Davies started his career with Shell working exploration and development in the Gulf of Mexico before moving to the ARCO structural geology technology group. In 2000, he joined Rock Deformation Research, as a consultant until their acquisition by Schlumberger in 2014 where he worked as a global structural geology advisor working with clients on structural geology services and training until August of 2023.
